RAAD: Formulations for Home & Body

Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your brand?

RAAD® is a family business sprung from our desire to help you live a RAAD® life. We’re passionate about making life simpler, kinder, more creative, and filled with joyful moments. Living by these values forms a RAAD® life, it's what we instill in our family, and it’s what drives us to create our addictively fragranced, empathetically crafted formulations for home & body.

Fragrance defines us. It’s the DNA within the RAAD® experience and it’s made for an under-valued sense that generates memory recall and cultivates memory making. It’s simple enjoyment. All of our scents are about coming home, home to live a RAAD® life.

A RAAD® life is forever. So everything we do has the future in mind to ensure generation after generation experience (and care for) the world in all its glory. Empathetically crafted means our process begins with empathy, thinking about the impact and the opportunity at every junction for every entity. We craft for the users, the makers, the planet today, and the planet tomorrow.

RAAD®’s NZ-made, plant-based formulations are a blend of nature’s finest and humanity’s best scientific developments. Designed to be highly effective, nourishing, and insanely enjoyable thanks to a combination of clinically proven ingredients and carefully curated active botanicals. Each formulation features one of our unique, discerning fragrances. Crafted in Grasse, France, each scent is gender-neutral, deeply addictive, and designed to evoke positive emotions to cultivate memory connections.

The product is designed so that you procure an empty vessel then select your formulation, as a single purchase or subscription.

How did your journey start?

We’re problem solvers and creators. We think design can and should inform everyday life. We’ve crafted the RAAD® experience this way and focused on simplifying daily tasks and making them meaningful choices. When our second daughter was born premature, we were inspired by an increased need to clean and have products that are kind to the skin and the environment, but that also added aesthetic and sensory value. From there, RAAD® is now a thriving DTC brand as well as a familiar feature in many of NZ's top restaurants, boutique hotels, and luxury retreats.

Can you share an interesting aspect of your work? Maybe a part of the product-making process or a unique work ritual you have?

We love loads of it! We are a small husband and wife team and we do it all, but we also collaborate with talented Kiwis where we need to bring in more experience or skill. The fragrance design is thrilling, and creating new products always gets our blood pumping! Finding better solutions, always.

What are the future plans and goals for you personally, and for your company?

Keep growing! We are thrilled with the growth we have had through supplying the most amazing luxury dining and accommodation experiences in NZ, and we want to help people recreate those experiences in their homes. We love it when we get an email from a customer who tried our product in a hotel or fine dining spot and now they want to have RAAD® for themselves at home. We have exciting new products in the pipeline and new vessel designs too. We work with a lot of interior designers and architects, which is a constant source of inspiration.

Can you tell us about the upcoming Spacefor activation? What can customers expect from you, and why did you decide to do it?

RAAD® is designed to be a sensory experience, so we wanted to provide an opportunity for people to come in, try, engage with the scents, feel the product, and touch the vessels. We're also offering free top-up refills to any of our existing customers who come down with their empty RAAD® bottles.
